SCHOOL OPENING CEREMONIES

We'd like to congratulate Calgary Board of Education on the official grand openings of West Ridge School and Dr. George Stanley School, which held ceremonies on Friday, April 7 and Thursday, April 27, respectively.   The schools have been exceptionally well received by both the communities being served and the principals and staff. 

At the West Ridge School ceremony, staff, parents, students, school board trustees and government representatives were treated to entertainment that included a musical performance by the ukulele club and school choir, a creative rap battle centered around the new school, as well as a visit from official school mascot Riley the Raptor.

At the Dr. George Stanley School official opening, Dr. Della Stanley spoke about the Canadian flag that her father designed, while the students paid homage to other famous Canadians and their contributions to Canada.

Also in attendance were representatives from the consultant teams—including RK’s Peter Schulz (Architect) and Sameer Deshpande (Project Manager)—who helped design the schools.
