RK Welcomes Back Comprehensive Design Studio

On March 4th RK welcomed Dr. Brian R. Sinclair, FRAIC, and the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Environmental Design for another review of its Comprehensive Design Studio. This semester, students were given the task of considering the design of an 1,800 m2 architectural complex focused on education, research, and collaboration – a “Centre for the Dialogue of Civilizations” where the world’s key players would discuss the complexities of our advancing modern world.

RK’s Chairman, John Riddell, as well as two of the firm’s senior designers, Brook Melchin and Peter Schulz, were on hand to review and critique each concept. Hosting these studio reviews has become a tradition here at RK, and this semester was another fine example of the creative work to come out of Dr. Sinclair’s Comprehensive Design Studio.
