Summer of Charity
Riddell Kurczaba's golfing-for-great-causes calendar was certainly busy in August.
RK took part in the eighth annual Remington Charity Golf Classic at the Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club to help raise $320,000 for Calgary's Prostate Cancer Centre.
The Prostate Cancer Centre is a non-profit medical centre dedicated to preventing and helping treat prostate cancer across Alberta. Since 2007, the Remington Development Corporation's golf classic has raised over $1.25 million to fight prostate cancer. RK, the event's Platinum Sponsor, was represented by Ron Kurczaba on the fairway and its marketing team who led a closest-to-the-pin contest for the tournament's participants.
Despite the windy and rainy weather in August, the tournament was well attended and the beautiful course outside Canmore, Alberta, was the perfect Canadian backdrop. And golfers didn't let the coyotes or black bear on the course dampen their spirits. After the tournament play, participants continued with longest drive or putt competitions, a silent auction and a live auction where all proceeds went to support the charity.
In addition to the Remington Charity Golf Classic, RK participated in the ninth annual CREW Calgary Golf Tournament. CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) is a networking organization dedicated to female executives in the real estate industry and its golf tournament raises funds for the Making Changes Association.
RK was also proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the Prime Charity Golf Classic, organized by Prime Real Estate Group. The United Way of Calgary was the beneficiary of the tournament, which featured a dinner and silent auction to round out the day's activities.
