MARKETING PROPOSALS SPECIALIST

Riddell Kurczaba is looking for an experienced full-time Marketing & Proposal Specialist to join our team.

The Marketing & Proposals Specialist will lead, write, and manage multiple proposals. They will ensure that all documents are compliant, compelling, and persuasive in accordance with all referenced requirements. They will work closely with the Executive Teams to support strategic proposal pursuits in the private and public sectors.
The successful candidate will join the Marketing Communications team and will report to the Principal and Managing Principal – Business Development. They will support the Marketing Communications Lead in other internal and external communications projects. They are a team player with a passion to create, connect, and standout.
responsibilities include:
Perform administrative tasks related to project set-up and proposal coordination
Coordinate and manage the proposal process; monitor bid opportunities, facilitate internal kick-off/strategy meetings, curate proposal content from subject matter experts and supporting personnel, through to the delivery of the response package
Proactively track and maintain communication and assignments among all proposal stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met, both in person and remotely
Write and edit copy for correspondences, SEO, reports, proposals, presentations, and other business collateral
Translate the proposal vision into a compelling proposal layout including suitable graphics and strategic image selection – coordinate with team members for graphic support when needed
Research and compile data (including quarterly proposal statistics) required by the Executive Team to inform for proposal strategy, responses and presentations
Contribute to post-submission exercises such as presentations, where applicable
Assemble and review past responses, for compliance, accuracy and content
Participate in internal/external debriefs and team meetings to share learnings and take an active part in our quest for continuous improvement.
Contribute to the development and improvement of corporate proposal strategy
Assist with the planning and execution of various internal/ external communications deliverables in both traditional and new media to support corporate marketing & communications initiatives
Help organize and, if necessary, participate in Open Houses, Trade Show Booths, and Special Corporate Events/ Sponsorships
Other duties include updating and maintaining corporate write ups, resumes, project profiles and other resource materials
qualifications include:
Strong collaborator and facilitator who can readily adapt to different team/pursuit dynamics.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent writing/ editing skills in English, with a strong attention to detail; creative writing abilities is an asset
Superior organizational, project and time management skills – demonstrating a flexible approach accommodating varying communication/ work styles
Ability to work effectively under pressure, execute multiple assignments within competing time frames and strict deadlines
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
Handles all administrative functions including final proposal production, binding, finishing, and shipping/ delivery of documents.
Experience writing proposals for architecture, engineering, and interior design professional consulting services is preferred
Other creative/ technical skills (photography, graphic design, document layout) a definite plus
Willing to complete proposals based on client timelines, which sometimes includes working outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines, when necessary
education and experience:
Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English (Technical Writing) or a related field - education and/or knowledge of the architecture, engineering, and interior design is an asset
5 – 10 years’ writing, and coordinating proposals – with experience generating copy and written content for a variety of internal and external communication items
Formal education in architecture, marketing or communications preferred; alternatively, 5-10 years of writing/ design/ production experience in marketing and/or editorial environment—priority will be given to candidates with experience in architectural or engineering consulting industry
Proficiency, formal training and/or proven practical experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) is required
Exceptional design/ layout skills in InDesign is a must
High Proficiency in PC environment, specifically Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Dynamics CRM)
Experience with CRM software/ databases and e-mail marketing services (e.g., Mail Chimp) preferred
Experience searching for federal, provincial and municipal bid opportunities preferred.
Working knowledge of architecture, engineering, interior design, accessibility and/or professional consulting services is an asset
