junior interior designer

location: Edmonton, AB

Riddell Kurczaba is offering a full time opportunity for a motivated individual who will support and coordinate the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of projects while operating within the guidelines established by the Senior Project Manager (Interior Designer) and within the policies and procedures established for Project Management.  Work may also entail expanded duties in general support of the company.

responsibilities include:

  • Primary responsibility is drafting; produces CAD drawings from markups and space planning on smaller scale projects

  • Proven ability using the current industry versions of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite,  Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer & Presentation software

  • Understand client needs, possess strong communication skills and work effectively within a cross functional team of architects, designers, interior designers, project managers and technologists

  • Provide support to Project Managers  or Senior Interior Designers for the implementation of a project, and administrative functions as they relate to construction administration,  document review, assemble contracts, progress and expenditure reports, project scheduling and archiving

  • Assure the Project Manager is apprised fully of status of projects

  • Make themselves available to provide necessary support to administration staff

qualifications include:

  • Good organizational skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to create aesthetically pleasing and useable drawings

education and experience:

  • Diploma or Degree from 3+ year interior design or technology program

  • 0 – 3 years’ experience, works as design or technical support on various projects in Canada

  • Training in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
